Presidential Message

 

Greetings to all of you! I am pleased to be able to greet you for a new and exciting year. We are going to better involve our members in the technological age by providing the best that we can for you. With the use of all the new tools available to us, we hope to increase membership and membership involvement in the association.

 

We started with setting up our website and making it available to all of you. Now, we need to get everyone to use it! We are working to make this site better for you. You will find information on the website that is current and useful to you as members. You can be among the first to get your newsletter. You will be able to send us questions and information quick and easy. We need to have you on board! If you don’t have your own computer or need help to use one, go to your local library or talk to a relative or neighbor.

 

We will be able to save money and be more efficient.  Send us your email address and give us permission to take you off the “snail mail” list. You need to remember to notify us if you change your contact information. We should be prominent in your “favorites” list….check us often.

 

The second thing to be thinking about is the convention in September of 2011. We are headed to WISP at Deep Creek Lake in lovely Garrett County. If you’ve not been there before, go to their website and find out all about it!.....www.wispresort.com. You will be hearing more about the convention and all that we are planning to do for the three days that we are there as we get closer to the date. We hope to make it meaningful to you as leaders of MRSPA and we hope to have a bit of fun at the same time. We’re headed west up into the mountains!!

 

Finally, our job is to make this organization a vital one that our retired school personnel will want to join. We plan to make it easy to do so and fun and informative. We need your help to spread the word. Get connected and let us know your thoughts….send your friends to the website to see what we’re doing…….bring them to meetings…….volunteer to help a committee and keep out of those rocking chairs, make new friends and laugh together while taking care of business.
