Community Service Committee

The MRSPA Community Service Committee encourages local associations to involve their members in service projects and volunteer activities. The committee will provide resources and information to the local associations.

Community Service Awards - 2009

The winners of the 2009 MRSPA Community Service Awards were as follows:

The winner of the Individual Outstanding Award was Carol L. Khalili - Calvert County for the One Room School Outreach Project. 

Honorable Mention awards went to Phyllis McCleaf - Washington County - Alsatia Mummers' Parade and Jennifer Wheeler - Talbot County - The Martha Greene Summer Scholarship and The Little Red School House Memorial Painting.

Recognition awards went to Margie Baker - Kent County - Kent County's Community Food Pantry, Betty Moore - Cecil County - Volunteer Activities, Kay Seccurro - Harford County - Volunteer Extraordinaire and Ione Williams - Anne Arundel County - Ray of Sunshine.

The winner of the local Association Outstanding Award was Prince George's Public School Retirees Association - Caring for Selected Families in Prince George's County. 

Honorable Mention awards went to Harford County Retired School Personnel Association - Retirees Supporting Readers Holiday Book Project and Kent County Retired School Personnel Association - Cliff School, Christmas Baskets, Kent County Food Pantry.

Recognition awards went to the following Associations: Baltimore County Retired School Personnel Association - Providing for the Less Fortunate, Caroline Retired School Personnel - CCRSP's Link with Caroline Hospice, Frederick County Retired School Personnel Association - Outreach to the Frederick County Community, Talbot County Public Schools Retired Personnel Association and Worcester County Retired School Personnel Association - WCRSPA Can Food Drive for the Maryland Food Bank.
