Interages

Have you put away your school employee badge but miss spending time with students?

Volunteer to be a tutor or mentor with Interages, a nondenominational program of JCA (The Jewish Council for the Aging). The typical commitment is just one hour a week and there are programs at schools across Montgomery County. Volunteers provide friendship and encouragement, and may help with reading, offer homework assistance, or engage in crafts and cultural activities. You can work with students from pre-kindergarten age through high school. There are also opportunities to work with residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities as they engage in interactive activities with students.

Interages provides training, materials, and on-site supervision. Because they’ve been bringing the generations together for 25 years, you’ll work with the best.
