	AARP MARYLAND AWARDS CHUCK RIDGEWAY FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE ANNAPOLIS, MD – Maryland Retired School Personnel Association (MRSPA) President Bonnie Brose presented Chuck Ridgeway, MRSPA Past President, with an AARP Maryland Community Service Award Friday, October 21, 2011, at the Doubletree Hotel in Annapolis. Mr. Ridgeway is involved in serving his community through many organizations, including AARP, MRSPA, and DeMolay. G.I. Johnson was selected to receive Maryland 2011 AARP Andrus Award for Community Service. This award symbolizes an individual’s power and ability to make a difference in the lives of others. Johnson is serving as president of AARP Baltimore Liberty Chapter #4636. He is also active at Israel Baptist church and a lifetime member of the NAACP. 	Joshua Parker, an English/Language Arts teacher at Windsor Mill Middle School in Baltimore County, was named 2011-2012 Maryland Teacher of the Year during a dramatic gala at Martin’s West October 14, 2011. MRSPA President Bonnie Brose served on the selection committee for the Maryland Teacher of the Year. The Maryland Teacher of the Year goes on to represent teachers throughout Maryland and also competes for the esteemed title of National Teacher of the Year.
