“Believe: Members Make The Difference”

 You are asked to believe in all kinds of things during your life.  Some are real and some are not. 

•  Believe in Santa Claus!

•  Believe in the Tooth Fairy!

•  Believe our Government will save us!

•  Believe in – well, you finish it. 

We are asking you to Believe in something, more particularly that all of the members of MRSPA make the difference.  Whether you are a member who pays your dues and is not very involved in the association or one who is very involved in the organization, you make the difference between having a successful association and one that is not. 

We are successful!  But, to continue to be successful we must grow in the number of our members.  This is nothing new to any of you but I know we all get tired of hearing it. 

New members keep us from stagnating and constantly inject new ideas into our association. We need that! 

New members help add monies that are needed to support our current programs and services to all of our members.  With costs increasing,  I’m sure all of you are feeling the pain just the same as my family and I, we need new members just to keep current with our obligations. 

Think of someone who is retiring from your school system.  Don’t forget those valuable employees who served in support positions; secretaries, instructional assistants, custodians, cafeteria personnel and the many others who now can be members of MRSPA.  We value them all and we perform valuable services for all of them.  Remember we are the only organization in Maryland that works exclusively for retired school personnel.  After you think of a few people be sure to contact them with a personal note.  Follow – up in a week or so to see if they got it and then get a membership application to them or tell them to go to the internet and sign up here on our website.  www.mrspa.org! 

It’s that personal touch that makes the difference.   Remember we will only continue to grow if you are proud of our organization and know to some degree what we do.  It’s exactly through the vision and hard work of our many dedicated members that we continue to grow.  Now more than ever we all need to be energized to continue to make a difference. So I would encourage all of you to “Believe, Members Make The Difference”!
